Biography
British-Italian lyric soprano Giulia Laudano graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy Opera School in 2021, where she studied with Marie Vassiliou and Christopher Glynn. She holds both an MA with Distinction and a BMus with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music.
Alongside her performing career, Giulia is Italian Language Coach for Opera and Vocal Studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Giulia also works as a vocal coach for actors, helping performers prepare singing roles and develop confident, healthy vocal technique for stage and screen. Her coaching focuses on musical interpretation, vocal freedom, and creating performances that feel authentic, expressive, and dramatically connected.
Giulia is also an experienced private singing teacher (all ABRSM grades) and frequently performs at weddings and funerals across London.
Her operatic roles include Zerlina (Don Giovanni, Dorset Opera Festival), Despina (Così fan tutte), Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Nancy (Albert Herring), Second Woman (Dido and Aeneas), and the False Boy (The Tsar Has His Picture Taken). She has also appeared in scenes as Idamante (Idomeneo), Sesto (Giulio Cesare), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Meg (Falstaff), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), and Tisbe (La Cenerentola), with chorus work including Nabucco, Lucia di Lammermoor, The Vanishing Bridegroom, Orphée aux Enfers, and The Diary of the One Who Disappeared.
A prize-winning singer, Giulia won First Prize in the Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize (2017), Second Prize in both the Marjorie Thomas Art of Song Prize (2017) and the Isabel Jay Memorial Song Prize (2019), and was a finalist in the Bampton Classical Opera Competition (2019). A former scholar of Thomas Hampson’s Lied Akademie at the Heidelberger Frühling Festival, she has a particular passion for lieder and song repertoire.
On the concert platform, she has appeared as alto soloist in Haydn’s Stabat Mater and Bach’s Cantata 150 (English Baroque Choir, St John’s Smith Square), Bach’s St Matthew Passion (Buckingham Choral Society), Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer (Exeter Philharmonic Choir), and Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn (Enfield Chamber Orchestra). At the Royal Academy of Music she was a soloist in the Bach the European series and performed with the RAM Song Circle at the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Angela Burgess Recital Hall.
Giulia has worked with conductors including Trevor Pinnock, Semyon Bychkov, and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

Giulia has been an amazing singing teacher for my son. He started at the age of 6, and within 2 years, he has taken his grade 1 singing exam with distinction, won a bronze medal at the Watford Music Festival and has now been offered a place at Westminster Abbey choir school and will be singing for the Abbey. Her lessons are fun, enthusiastic and engaging, as well as being of high quality. I could not recommend her highly enough!

If you are looking for a Singing Teacher, we can highly recommend Giulia Laudano. Giulia has completed four degrees at the Royal Academy of Music: BMus, MA, LRAM and Advanced Diploma in opera (Doctorate). Giulia has been tutoring our son for two years (he is 10 years old now) and he has just achieved the pass mark in Music Aptitude Test for a secondary school place in Mill Hill County High School and has come in the top ten for Ashmole Academy. Attention to detail and technical skills in singing are very important and Giulia knows how to instil these in kids. Giulia is great with children; Giulia is committed and willing to work hard with our child and we really appreciate that. Giulia Laudano: 07908 278029; g.laudano@hotmail.com.
